GOGO’s TACOS

BRANDING / ART DIRECTION / DESIGN / ILLUSTRATION

Brittany Chavez, Owner of Guerilla Taco, reached out and hired my studio to develop and execute a full brand build-out for her new restaurant, Gogo’s Tacos. I took on the bulk of this project as Art Director and Designer. The client wanted a brand with elements of LA Lowrider car culture and distinct Chicano elements.
Instead of only pulling directly from the Cars themselves, I took inspiration from Auto Body and Mechanic shops around East Los Angeles, specifically the hand-painted style of their shop signage and logos. I developed and designed the branding & visual identity. I also designed all packaging and illustrated all of the supporting illustrations for digital and print.

Am I Next?

CAMPAIGN IDENTITY / ART DIRECTION / DESIGN

Miguel Santana, President & CEO of California Community Foundation, reached out with an urgent request: develop & launch a full advocacy campaign for digital & web, in under 2 weeks. This campaign was in response to the ICE raids that were targeting immigrant communities across Los Angeles.

The deliverables needed to launch this campaign were a visual Identity, art direction, a website, and a 15-minute clip featuring stories of individuals kidnapped by ICE, accompanied by photography of Angelenos who volunteered to be part of the campaign to show solidarity with immigrant communities. On top of that, the client needed a produced clip that explained the campaign and captured the projections of the stories and portraits on buildings across DTLA.

To accomplish this, an intentional & strategic approach was critical to hitting the ambitious project timeline. Simple & bold was the approach; balancing the stark photography & impactful stories made the production pieces realistic.

As the work grew, we were tasked to launch a social media channel that included design and content creation and social media management.

CALifornia community Foundation

Design / ART DIRECTION / social Media DESIGN

California Community Foundation is one of the most important philanthropic organizations in Los Angeles. I supported their comms team in developing their existing brand identity for social media campaigns. The organization has many initiatives that necessitate their own distinct identity that is still within the overall identity for the organization. I developed those identities for social. Assets included static design and motion pieces to be utilized for video production
